The well-known ship 'De Rotterdam' has officially been opened. The ship has been renovated in the last few years and returned to Rotterdam at the end of 2008.

The ship was built in the fifties and was the flagship of the Holland-America Line. Dimensions of the ship: up to 228 meter long, 28 meter wide, it has 13 decks, 1400 authentic chairs and 518 beds. Meanwhile the ship is now completely renewed. The ship, as it is now delivered, is at least as good as it was new. During renovation attention was paid to all details without compromising quality. The original character is preserved. It is also fully equipped with modern technology.

The huge steamship was designed as a hotel, training center, conference center and a tourist attraction.

For this prestigious project Metos delivered all professional kitchen equipment, a.o. cooking equipment for various pantries in the Queens Room, La Fontaine, Ambassador Lounge and also for the restaurants Club Room, Lido en Ocean Bar. Furthermore a more than 8 meter long Metos rack conveyor dishwasher has been delivered in the dishwashing room.
